Dear Prayer Partners,
March did not hold much out of the ordinary but was more so filled with everyday faithfulness. Every month I feel new relationships forming or deepening and I see new ways that God is at work. I am always encouraged by these daily blessings. There were days this month when I had to remind myself not to grow weary in doing good, and days I asked God to fill me again with His peace and eyes to see where He's working. He has answered these prayers and continued to strengthen me each day as I serve him here.
Updates
School has been going well! In the last two weeks I have been teaching my students about spring. We have been talking about the idea of new life and learning about life cycles. I was able to use these topics to talk to my students about the new life that can be found in Christ and the concept of being "born again." I loved being able to discuss these concepts with my students during devotionals and science classes over the last few weeks.
The man who is the guard for my apartment building has a daughter who is a student at Las Palmas. At church last week, this student responded to the message and told one of the Las Palmas teachers that she needed to be saved. She accepted Christ as her Savior that day. Praise the Lord!
Over the last month, I have finally settled into my apartment a bit more. I was able to buy some new decorations and furniture that make the apartment really feel like home. Grateful that God has provided for all my needs and allowed me to feel at home here in this way.
I am looking forward to celebrating Easter here in the DR! We have a week off of school for Semana Santa. I am thankful for some extra time to relax and explore. I will be going on a short trip with some of my missionary friends at the end of this week that I am excited for. Next Sunday we will be having a special Easter service at church, and I am looking forward to helping lead worship on that day.
Prayer Requests
Pray for the Las Palmas student who recently accepted Christ. Pray that her faith grows as she learns more about our Savior.
Lamour (my roommate) is currently in the United States to visit churches and spend time with family. Please pray for safe travels for her and pray for me as I'm alone in the apartment this week. Thankfully I have a great community of other missionaries to spend time with and to check in on me.
We have been having a lot of problems with our water pressure in our apartment for the last month. There is often little to no water when I go to wash dishes or take a shower which has been inconvenient. Please pray that this is resolved soon.
The process to get my residency has taken a lot longer than I anticipated. I just received the paperwork I need from the school so I can apply for residency. I will be working on uploading documents and hopefully getting an appointment scheduled to get my residency in the next month. Please pray this goes smoothly and I'm able to finish this process before I return to the States for the summer.
Thank you again for your continued support and prayers. I hope you are able to reflect on the immeasurable greatness of God's power and enjoy celebrating the victory of Christ over sin and death this coming Sunday. What a great God we serve.
Blessings,
Natasha
