Dear Prayer Partners,
September was a month of new beginnings. The first day of school was September 2nd, so September was full of getting to know new coworkers, students, and families. It was a month of getting into routines for both me and my students. I am excited to share a few updates of what life has looked like in this new school year.
Praises
The beginning of the new school year has gone really well overall. Since it is my third year teaching, I knew a lot more of what to expect and felt more prepared starting the year. I have a lot of students that are siblings of students I have taught in the past, so many of the students already knew me coming into the new year. This made it easier for me to start building relationships. I pray at the start of every year that God would give me love for each one of my new students and I really feel the Lord has allowed that to come easily this year. I am excited to see how these relationships will continue to grow throughout this year.
After raising support for the car this summer my roommate and I were praying that God would provide the right car at the right time for us to purchase. We were hoping to buy something that had been owned by another missionary. This was recommended to us because it can be difficult to know if people are being honest about the condition of used cars here. About two weeks ago a missionary family at my roommate's church asked if anyone was looking to buy a used car. We got the information about the car and went to look at it. It met all the requirements that we were hoping and praying for in a car so, after praying over the decision, we committed to buying that car! We are so thankful for the way the Lord provided not only the funds, but the exact car we needed. We are excited for the opportunities this car will open for us in giving us more reliable transportation, allowing us to help others get to and from ministry events, and giving us more freedom to explore the island. Thank you so much to those who donated to help make this possible.
On September 29th we had a baptism service at our church. We had 6 individuals that followed the Lord in baptism that day. We praise God for the work he has done in each of these lives. What was especially special to me at this baptism service was seeing many of my current and former students sitting right behind the baptismal. It is such a blessing to see them get to watch others in the church choose to follow Jesus and take the step of faith to get baptized. I pray that one day each one of them will choose to take this step themselves.
Prayer Requests
Pray for the day-to-day challenges of teaching. Every day takes energy and patience and grace. Pray that I am able to stay physically and mentally healthy. Pray that my cup is filled by the Lord daily so my ministry is truly an overflow of the love I have for my Savior.
Pray for the process of us getting our new car. The family that we are buying it from is in the process of purchasing a new vehicle to replace the one we are purchasing. There has been some delay because of the processing of bank transactions. Please pray that the transaction is able to go through quickly so we can get our car soon. We are also working through all the legal processes of transferring the title, paying taxes, and buying insurance. Please pray that all this goes smoothly.
Pray for wisdom and safety in the process of learning to drive in a new country.
Pray for the chapel that I serve at on Sunday nights. Pray that the Lord draws new people from that community to the chapel and that we're able to share the Gospel with those that need to hear.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and prayers.
Blessings,
Natasha
